Through the use of unconventional materials and techniques, they establish connections and critiques of institutions within the realms of politics, religion, imperialism, patriarchy and its reflection on Dominican culture through transphobia, queerphobia, misogyny, xenophobia and racism. Currently exploring Taino roots, Dominican folklore, like the Carnival, along with the myths and legends of the popular folk stories through a trans queer lens. With this, Frankie seeks to preserve aspects of these ancestral cultural traditions while also bringing visibility to trans and queer issues in Caribbean culture.
